Black and white is the trend for weddings this season. Elegant and striking, a nod to Art Deco.
A fashion conscious bride contacted me a couple of months ago and asked me to bind her this bespoke Wedding Guest Book:
She chose a devastatingly romantic frontspage - as well as her and her husband's names and the date of their wedding, she included Cathy's words from Wuthering Heights: "Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same".
A set of matching Monochrome Mini Journals completed her wedding package - I believe she planned to delight her bridesmaids and best men with them.
If you'd like a bespoke Wedding Guest Book - and perhaps a set of Mini Journals - to co-ordinate with your colour scheme, take a look at your options here and write me an email: info@boundbyhand.co.uk - I'd love to hear about your plans! If you need something classic in a hurry, my White & Neutral guest books are just the thing.

It's a great opportunity to view and buy art on a bookish theme, and we'll be showing our leather journals and sketchbooks, and introducing a new range of paperback notebooks and sketchbooks in unusual binding styles.
The exhibition is at Hawthorn Contemporary Craft Gallery in Blandford Forum, Dorset and runs from 2 August - 12 October 2013.

Scrapbooks never looked so fine! I call mine Memory Books and they're great for family albums, wedding planning and recording your adventures - fill it with photos, mementoes, writing and sketching for analogue storage and display of your wonderful life.
I make your Memory Books to order so from the get-go you can customise yours exactly how you like it. So whether you love monochrome, bright citrus or muted tones, you'll have your perfect book. Ask me to print bespoke text on the frontspage: your family name, the year, an inspiring quotation... whatever you like.
Bound with extra space in the spine to allow for your inclusions, these books lie flat on a desk and will never fall apart, thanks to their archival materials and binding style - that's the Longstitch with Linkstitch, in use since Medieval times. They have 128 pages of heavyweight quality cartridge paper which will take all dry medium artwork and glue.
Your options are:
Size: Extra Large A4 (12 x 8.5 inches); Large A5 (6 x 8.5") or Medium A6 (4.5 x 6")
Format: landscape or portrait
Leather: 52 colours
Stitching: 22 colours
Bespoke frontspage text.
Prices are £199 for Extra Large, £119 for Large and £90 for Medium plus postage by secure service, which is £9 UK, £15 EU, £19 non-EU. I ship worldwide with an impeccable track record and if you'd like to know the costs in your currency, just ask. To order, just email me to discuss your requirements: info@boundbyhand.co.uk

It's cold and grey but thanks to Country Living magazine we're dreaming of brighter times. With our heart firmly in the country, we love Country Living and are so very pleased to see our Mini Journals featured in the April edition!
This spring BOUND's customers have been using Mini Journals for Easter treasure hunts with their grandchildren and as longer lasting gifts in addition to the much loved but quickly devoured Easter egg!
Check out the Emporium pages for 'inspiring ideas for simple country style'. There are gorgeous bird themed suitcases from The Oak Room, a quirky one-off teapot from Virginia Graham and lots of useful, pretty and highly individual ideas for home and garden.
Huge thanks to Celia Stuart-Menteth and the rest of the Country Living team for producing, month on month, year on year, such a well-loved and inspiring magazine and for featuring the work of independent designer makers such as BOUND. We think you're great!
