Hello, have we met before? My name is Susan Green. I’m a bookbinder who is extremely proud to make heirloom quality new books for creatives, for anyone approaching a special life event such as a wedding, anniversary, milestone birthday, retirement or memorial service, as well as for venues including those in the hospitality and heritage sectors, and private homes.
I am deeply passionate about using tactile natural materials to create honourable, safe spaces for your most precious memories, hopes and dreams, and creative explorations whether in written or visual form. Pleasure, simplicity, practicality and heritage play key roles in my work, and I am constantly thankful and humbled that I am trusted to make books for thousands of individuals, families, businesses and charities all over the world.
I have been doing this work for 15 years and am delighted to have finally found my forever studio in the Dorset garden of the home I share with my artist-educator wife. As part of my work as a bookbinder I offer mentoring over Zoom for creatives who want to incorporate the book form into their practice, and I occasionally teach in-person workshops.
