Handmade Leather Journal: premium quality unlined paper for all pens

This exquisitely tactile Leather Journal is individually bound by hand in the finest quality Red organic goatskin using time-honoured bookbinding techniques. It's a joy to use, thanks to its practical lay-flat binding, smooth paper and the natural leather which is so smooth to the touch, slightly glossy with a beautiful hand-polished natural grain.

Available in 2 sizes, each journal contains 200 pages of premium quality Superfine paper for a pleasurable writing experience. The Longstitch with Linkstitch binding has been in use since the 15th century, making this handmade journal an ideal choice for people who value heritage craftsmanship.

"These journals really are made with the finest materials, the quality of the leather is evident from touch alone." - Charlotte, West Midlands

Handmade Journal Features & Benefits

  • Premium quality paper. 115gm Mohawk Superfine paper is acid-free and archival, FSC certified and manufactured by windpower, with zero greenhouse gas emissions. It's white and unlined (blank) for unrestricted use and perfectly suited to writing with a fountain pen, calligraphy pen, ballpoint, biro or pencil.
  • Lay-flat pages. It's easy to use this journal thanks to the lay-flat binding, which lets you write across pages and right into the spine. No fighting with a tight, glued hardback design, no need to hold down pages when you write.
  • Archival binding. This handmade journal will last a lifetime. The pages are collected into 8 'signatures', which are sewn directly through the leather cover in one continous sewing. Because no glue is used, this journal can never fall apart, its pages will never come loose, unlike commercially available leather notebooks.
  • Flexible yet durable. Although this is a flexible softcover style, this leather journal is nevertheless very hardwearing, thanks to the practical wrap around design that protects its pages, the archival binding and durable leather covers.
  • Handmade authenticity. The pages are folded and torn by hand for a traditional look and feel, and the final page features a discrete printed 'Colophon', with binding, maker and materials details.

"It is absolutely beautiful, just what I wanted and a lovely colour. I cannot thank you enough." - Liston, the Netherlands
