This tactile A5 Leather Sketchbook or Journal is hand bound in fine grain Forest Green calfskin leather with exposed spine stitching in Purple and a leather strap to close. It contains 192 pages of premium quality recycled cartridge paper with traditional hand-torn deckle edges.
This softcover leather sketchbook is very hardwearing thanks to its archival materials and binding style. It's such a delight to use because the leather is so good to handle: warm and lightly textured. Not to mention that the book is so flexible that the pages lie open on a table for easy use.
You can use all dry mediums, ink and light watercolour wash on the sketchbook's 140gsm acid-free pages, which are made from recycled coffee cups. The paper is also suitable for fountian pen, ballpoint and biro, so the book is also ideal as a journal or notebook.
The pages are collected into eight signatures stitched through the leather cover in the 15th century Longstitch with Linkstitch binding. This is an accomplished binding style executed here with careful attention to detail, tension and design. A discrete colophon on the last page details the materials and binding style for that authentic Bound by Hand experience.
