This Cotton Rag Sketchbook is bound with a tactile velvet ribbon in Olive or Forest Green. The quality, handmade paper is suitable for dry and wet media, including watercolour, gouache, ink, charcoal - or even embroidery stitching! It's available in 2 sizes, with optional cover.

Features & Benefits

  • Wet & dry media The cotton rag paper is 210gsm and gelatine sized, so it has a nice weight and takes wet media really well. Its natural tooth and texture provides a good grip for dry media like charcoal and pencil. It's acid free, and the long-fibers of handmade paper make it suitable for embroidery stitching, too. 
  • Lay-flat / 360 degrees The exposed spine binding allows the pages of your sketchbook to lay flat on a desk. You won't need to weigh the pages down with paperweights or hold them open with binder clips, and you can work right into the gutter of each page. The binding also lets the entire sketchbook stand open in a 360 degree circle, which is an inviting way to display its contents.
  • Handmade authenticity Handmade paper has traditional deckle edges which give the pages a delightful, ruffled appearance. They seem to invite connection and collaboration; the perfect antidote to blank page fear!
  • Eco-friendly This quality paper is fairtrade and handmade from 100% cotton offcuts from the fashion industry, which pevents waste from going to landfill. 
  • Practical Not just an aesthetic choice, the wonderfully soft velvet ribbon is incorporated into the binding to keep your sketchbook closed for travel or archiving.

    I have several of these books mainly because they are just so beautiful and unique but also they are wonderful to work in, and the fact that there is now the option of velvet ribbons is the icing on the cake!
