Carefully handmade in naturally vegan, sustainable materials, this A5 Sketchbook is bound in Pink Rose Gold cork textile with spine stitching in soft Grey linen thread. With flecks of gold colour and a gentle colour palette, it's a beautiful addition to any vegan creative's collection of sketchbooks and journals.
This sketchbook has 192 pages of 140gsm multipurpose recycled cartridge paper that's great for all kinds of dry or wet art media. The pages lie open on a desk, so the book is really easy to use whether you're sketching or writing. A discrete colophon on the final page gives details of the binding and materials for handmade authenticity. It's a flexible softcover style of book that is nevertheless very durable.
Cork textile is warm and smooth to the touch, making this a lovely book to handle and use. It's also hypoallergenic and water-resistant, so it's practical, too. It's a naturally vegan alternative to leather, and an earth-friendly answer to synthetic 'faux' leathers that are plastic based.
Cork is a naturally renewable resource protected by law, and the cartridge paper is made from recycled disposable coffee cups. What's more, the binding thread is pure linen, which is one of the most sustainable fibres on earth.
Cork is a textile so I treat its edges with a plant-based substance to prevent fraying, ensuring you'll get a lot of use and pleasure from this book over the years!
