This set bundles two of my bestselling exposed spine cotton rag Sketchbooks; the Wabi Sabi and the Japanese, both at A6 small size (4 x 6 inches / 10 x 15cm approximately).

It's the perfect gift set for your creative loved one - or treat yourself and make space for your own creativity in these beautifully handmade art journals.

Sketchbooks with Style and Substance

The Wabi Sabi Sketchbook has 64 pages that open fully and lie completely flat. They'll also accommodate a few inclusions like cut-outs, cards, photos, etc. The books feature exposed spine stitching in white French linen thread, incorporating a natural woven linen ribbon that ties around the book like a parcel to keep it closed.

The Japanese Sketchbook features the Simple 4-hole spine pattern in Light Blue linen thread. It has 40 pages and is great for travel as it's compact and lightweight. The spine stays closed, meaning the sketchbook is held to work in, and it stays safely closed of its own accord. It works great for small sketches of buildings and landscapes, or as a flipbook.

Planet and People Friendly

Both art journals are bound with 210gsm medium surface handmade paper that's raditionally handmade in India, and is guaranteed fairtrade. It's sized, which means it takes wet media like gouache and watercolour very well. It's also lovely for pencils and ink. I even use mine for embroidery stitching!

The paper is sustainable and eco-friendly as it's made with recycled offcuts from the fashion industry that would otherwise become landfill waste. The paper is exceptionally beautiful with a distinctive 'ruffled' texture and appearance. It seems to invite you to experiment and play - no blank page creative terror here!
