These 2 pdf digital downloads help you get started making books. They tell you what you need and where to go to get supplies. I wrote them to save you from the confusion and frustration I felt when I began bookbinding back in 2008.
The Beginner's Guide details what basic tools, equipment and materials you need to start making books. It details the professional tools, lists cheaper alternatives you can buy from craft shops, and also suggests no-spend options you may already have at home in your kitchen, craft stash or DIY toolbox.
The Directory tells you where to go to find supplies, from bookbinding tools and kits, to paper, leather, thread and other materials, and bindery equipment, too. It's aimed at people in the UK - that's where almost all the suppliers are located - but it has advice on finding second-hand and free supplies which will be useful whichever country you live in.
