Hot foot it down to The Workhouse Chapel in Sturminster Newton this Saturday for the opening of Handmade for Christmas - 7 week of Christmas shopping heaven as "in November and December each year the Chapel becomes the most wonderful Christmas shopping venue – a selling exhibition of hand-crafted work from 60 of the West Country’s finest makers and artists plus one or two from further afield. This is definitely not the average craft show!" says lead artist Rose Hatcher.
You'll find a selection of my books there, including the very popular Accordion Sketchbooks (great as photo albums, story telling, artwork and scrapbooking a journey), Mini Journals (pop one in your loved one's stocking), larger leather journals, sketchbooks and Memory Books (perfect 'special' gifts).
I'm so happy to be a part of Handmade for Christmas again this year - the venue and selection of makers is stunning and I did a good deal of my Christmas gift shopping there myself last year.
Here's some information from Rose Hatcher, felt maker and lead artist:
Handmade for Christmas brings the joy back to Christmas shopping - yes it truly does. Hallelujah! Browse amongst the most tempting of treats – you will surely want to buy a present for yourself as well as unique and beautiful things for those you love! Jewellery, natural skincare and lovely scarves for the ladies – silver cufflinks, leather belts and hats, metalwork and handmade boxes for the men – even hand-made teddy bears for the young at heart; artwork to adorn your walls – sculpture and ceramics – hand made baskets – and so much more.
A gallery to rival all others, just not at ‘gallery’ prices! Especially if you climb the wooden stairs to the BARGAIN BALCONY!! We will be selling slight seconds and old stock (absolutely no old rubbish!) at bargain prices on the mezzanine floor, which will also continue in use as Rose’s workshop throughout the show.
If it all becomes too much, put your feet up by the roaring log fire and enjoy a glass/cup of something warm and reviving whilst admiring the architecture. Then just carry on shopping once you’ve got your strength back….
We promise you a shopping experience like no other – and one we hope you will want to shout about. Tell all your friends; better still, bring them along.
