Long before I offered Crawford waxed linen thread for sale, I was using its many wonderful colours as a bespoke option for my hand bound books and I gave the colours names that I thought accurately and attractively described what my clients could expect. This didn't always match the brand's colour name!
I was frustrated at how hard it was to find this thread in the UK - a common problem amongst bookbinders in European countries - so I decided to purchase it in large quantities and break it down in to affordable, project-friendly lengths for other bookbinders and crafters.
But once I started selling the linen thread I kept my existing colour names. So I thought it would be helpful if you had a chart to check my name for the colours against the Crawford name. Hopefully, in addition to a Shade Card, this will help you select the right thread for your bookbinding, macrame, leatherwork and other projects.

You could certainly order a Custom packet, so you could have 2 x Yellow (10 yards) and 1 x Sherbet Lemon (5 yards).
If you prefer, you could order a Shade Card (the cost is redeemable against one future purchase).
I post orders out within 1-3 working days and delivery is 1-2 days. If you’re in a rush, there is an Express shipping option, too.
