After sampling, testing and frankly - stroking - many different types of paper from some of the world's best paper mills, I've selected Mohawk as the new standard for BOUND, because no other paper has the same reputation for quality, consistency and uniformity.
Whilst I've always used premium quality paper, I needed a reliable supply of the very finest papers from a brand whose name is synonymous with world class quality. A recent chance meeting with the M.D. of an excellent print company solved my supplier woes (thanks, Mark at Epic!)
Mohawk paper is exceptionally smooth, takes all inks beautifully and is a delight to use.
Guest Books, Journals, Sketchbooks and Notebooks now contain Mohawk Superfine Smooth White 118 gsm paper and Memory Books use 216 gsm. Mohawk Superfine is the world's standard for premium uncoated paper. First produced in the 1940s to meet the demands of a new generation of artists and printers, today Mohawk Superfine represents the highest quality paper available.
If you're ordering from the Ready To Ship Collection which contains books made before the switch, feel free to enquire exactly which paper your selection contains.
Produced from 100% virgin fibre, Mohawk Superfine is acid-free and archival, making it ideal for writing and artwork. It is FSC and Green e-certified, guaranteed to come from well-managed forests and responsibly harvested, manufactured with windpower with zero greenhouse gas emissions.
Speciality artists papers continue to be available on request, so if you have a preferred paper for pastels, charcoal, watercolour and so on, I would be delighted to bind a book using exactly the paper you prefer.
