Skillfully handmade in sustainable materials, this A5 Cork Vegan Sketchbook is bound in pretty Pink Rose Gold with attractive exposed spine stitching in Turquoise linen thread. It's a softcover art journal with 192 pages of 140gsm multipurpose recycled Seawhites cartridge paper for all dry or wet art media.

That's because cork is a naturally renewable resource protected by law, and the cartridge paper is made from recycled disposable coffee cups. Furthermore, the binding thread is pure linen, one of the most sustainable fibres on earth.
Cork textile is warm and smooth to the touch, making this sketchbook just lovely to handle and use. It's also hypoallergenic and water-resistant, so it's practical, too. It's both a naturally vegan alternative to leather, and a sustainable, eco-friendly alternative to synthetic 'faux' leathers that are plastic based.
I have been making books since 2008 and have an arsenal of tools and bookbinding techniques at my disposal to ensure your books is as beautiful as it is practical. Because cork is a textile, I treat its edges with a plant-based substance to prevent fraying, ensuring you'll get a lot of use and pleasure from this book.
I use a special Japanese tool to create the cover's sewing stations, meaning each is precisely shaped, rather than pierced and torn. This means that - unlike other handmade cork vegan books - your book is the highest quality available.
To minimise waste and increase my studio's sustainability, I use cork offcuts - small pieces left over after making these A5 books - to make matching cork vegan Miniature Journals.
