Handmade Cotton Rag Sketchbook bound with luxury red silk ribbon

This cotton rag artist's sketchbook is a slightly more luxurious version of the popular Wabi Sabi Sketchbooks, this time bound with a delicate pinkish-red silk ribbon.

It has 64 pages of 210gsm handmade cotton rag paper that is suitable for dry and wet media, including watercolour, gouache, ink, pencil and even embroidery.

Choose the simple exposed spine version, or add a heavyweight cotton rag paper cover for archiving (leave a message at checkout if you'd like to add the cover).

A lay-flat sketchbook

This practical Sketchbook is bound in the French Linkstitch style, and is left coverless to showcase the beauty of its binding and materials (unless you add the optional cover). 

Bound by hand with traditional bookbinding skills, the exposed spine binding allows the pages to lie flat on a surface for easy use. The book will also turn 360 degrees so you can display its pages standing up on a shelf in your studio, or in an exhibition. 

A versatile cotton rag art journal

The 100% cotton rag paper is acid-free and sized for wet media. It has a nice weight, texture and tooth, so it takes dry media like charcoal equally welll. It's fairtrade and handmade from textile industry offcuts, meaning it's sustainable, ethical and good for the planet. 

Because they're handmade, the pages have traditional deckle edges which make for a delightfully ruffled appearance. When not in use, the delicate silk ribbon keeps your art journal securely closed (and the ribbon is held safe by the spine stitching).
